The very first winter-spring session of the Auerfarm 4-H Explorers (children aged 5-6) had a meaningful and playful conclusion on Saturday, April 24. The group met in the Bloomfield’s Leisure Services building. The Explorers celebrated Earth Day. They learned about the importance of recycling. During the program they played a recycling game and had an art activity. They also participated in community service by cleaning Bloomfield’s Boundless playground.

During the eight classes the Explorers experienced a range of topics. Cold weather, dinosaurs, insects, plants, our senses, and emotions. The children learned how to navigate their emotions, and had a safe place to practice their public speaking skills. All learning took place through experiential and sometimes quite messy but fun activities.

The Explorers meet on the second and fourth Saturday at 10 AM at Leisure Services, 330 Park Avenue in Bloomfield. The next session will start in September.
