Bloomfield, CT- Calling all home bakers! Dust off your rolling pins and sharpen your kneading skills – Auerfarm is thrilled to welcome back best-selling cookbook author Terry Walters for a special Sourdough Bread Making Workshop on April 4, 2024, at 5:30 PM.

This immersive workshop is the perfect opportunity for both novice and experienced bakers to learn the secrets of creating delicious, artisanal sourdough bread from scratch. Under the guidance of Terry Walters, a beloved friend of the community, participants will gain valuable knowledge on:

  • Maintaining a Healthy Sourdough Starter: Learn the essential steps to cultivating and nurturing your very own sourdough starter, the heart and soul of perfect sourdough loaves.
  • Crafting the Perfect Dough: Master the art of mixing, kneading, and shaping sourdough dough, ensuring a beautiful rise and a satisfying texture.
  • Baking for Success: Discover the secrets of achieving a perfect golden crust and a light, airy crumb through expert baking techniques.

This hands-on workshop will provide participants with all the tools and skills needed to embark on their own sourdough baking journey. Attendees are encouraged to bring themselves and a 9×12 casserole dish, which will be used as a proofing basin during the workshop. All other ingredients and equipment will be provided.
