Meet one of our bunny rabbits from Auerfarm’s barn! An Auerfarm teacher will bring a bunny and encourage students to observe the animal up close. They will also bring feathers from a variety of bird species. Younger students will focus on body coverings and animal homes, while older students will discuss adaptations and build food webs with the barn animals’ wild counterparts.

Let’s bring the wonders of gardening into your classroom. In this program, students will examine and sort a variety of seeds, learn about the parts of a plant and act out a plant’s life cycle. Each student will plant a seed and learn how to care for your class’ new window sill garden.

Let’s explore decomposition together! Students will examine our red wiggler worms and learn about how they turn garbage into soil. Younger students will practice their observation skills while the older students will focus on adaptations and compost ecosystems.

Discover how goat, sheep, and alpaca fiber is turned into yarn. In this program, students will learn about these different animals, what they need to live, and how we turn their fleece into yarn and clothing. Students will also have an opportunity to card and spin fiber on their own.
