Welcome to Auercamp!

A day camp set on 120 sprawling acres of land for your child to explore, play, and learn! At the farm, your child will have the opportunity to engage with farm animals, learn gardening practices, and explore nature in a meaningful way that makes environmental connections to our daily lives. Along with these unique farm activities, children will engage in arts & crafts, sports & games, and music & drama, as one would at a typical day camp. As a camp, we try and stick to these subject areas while incorporating science & nature given our unique location. Each week counselors choose activities, crafts, and games that pertain to those categories to fill their days. At Auercamp there is something for everyone!

CAMP BY AGE GROUP

SPROUTS

The Sprouts Camp is a half-day program for ages 3-5 from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. The sprouts participate in farm-based activities such as engaging with farm animals, gardening, and exploring nature as well as art projects, hayrides, cooking, and games!

FARM EXPLORERS

The Farm Explorers group is for children entering grades 6-8. Farm explorers frequently go on hikes to Talcott Mountain and engage in more complex farm and nature activities such as fort building, making fires, and learning survival skills.

YOUNG FARMERS

The Young Farmers group is for campers entering grades K-5. This gets broken down into 5 age groups: Peas, Carrots, Melons, Beets, and Berries, organized by birthdate. Each day we are outside as much as possible, exploring all aspects of the farm’s fields, gardens, barns, and woods. Daily activities might include art projects, songs, gardening, time with farm animals, nature walks, hayrides, cooking, science experiments, fort building, games, and more!

LEADERSHIP

The Leadership program is a unique opportunity for campers in 9th & 10th grade to develop skills in communication, critical thinking, and public speaking. Leadership campers will work together in the morning to build problem-solving and team-building skills. In the afternoons they will “shadow” a counselor and help out with one of the young farmer groups. At the end of the week, leadership campers will be asked to come up with an activity to do with their chosen group.

Camp-Fun Year Round!

Spring Vacation Camp

Auer Spring Vacation Camp is a day camp set on the farm during April break from school. The day consists of S.T.E.A.M-based activities that keep kids engaged and excited such as science experiments, art projects, sports & games, fort building, nature walks, and more! Spring opens up new learning possibilities that you can’t get in the winter and summer seasons. Children will have the opportunity to explore the magic of the spring, by learning about how plants and crops burst into life, and discovering the secrets of flowers and the important role of pollinators in nature. They’ll also gain a deeper understanding of Auerfarm as it awakens in the warmer months. Spend your April vacation with us and see how Auerfarm comes to life in the spring! Ages 5 – 12.
