Volunteers are an essential part of the Auerfarm team. As a small non-profit organization with 120 acres of land and a broad and diverse visitor population, we rely on volunteers to help us keep Auerfarm running. It is truly through the combined efforts of our volunteers that we are able to achieve our organizational goal of connecting people, agriculture, and the environment.
Volunteer tasks are incredibly diverse, ranging from daily land maintenance, gardening, and animal care to education and outreach. There are also ample opportunities for specialized projects suitable for volunteers with particular skill sets. We appreciate that every volunteer who comes to Auerfarm brings a unique set of experiences and abilities to our organization, and we will strive to guarantee that the work you do is suited to you as an individual.
While many volunteers are drawn to Auerfarm because of our mission or a general interest in farming, we acknowledge that many others come to us with specific goals in mind, such as to learn more about sustainable agriculture and agri-science, build professional skills, or to find a community of people with like-minded interests. Auerfarm’s diverse team of educators, farmers, and scientists, along with our network of volunteers, is sure to enable your aims as a volunteer to be realized. It is our conviction that whatever your goal as a volunteer may be, you will be able to achieve it with the expertise offered by our staff and current volunteers.
