S.T.E.M. Enrichment Programs at Auerfarm

On Wednesdays, Auerfarm hosts an after-school S.T.E.M. club specifically designed for students in grades K-6. Running from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, this program offers a unique opportunity for children to explore the expansive 120-acre farm, where they can learn about various animals and develop essential outdoor skills through hands-on experiences with the farm’s resources.

During these sessions, students participate in a variety of activities that may include fishing in the stream, building structures in the play forest, and engaging in art projects that connect them with nature. These experiences not only help children acquire new skills but also foster their confidence, creativity, and curiosity about the world around them. Led by a passionate farm educator, participants engage in small group activities that emphasize social-emotional learning, cooperation, and respect for the environment.

Enrollment is accepted on a rolling basis. Can’t join us until later in the session? That is okay! Join when you can at a prorated cost!

What Parents Say

“Auerfarm’s unique education program has been huge complement to our families homeschool journey. I found many other programs for pre-K age children to be overly focused on academics and not enough focus on nature and the world around them. Attending Auerfarm’s Sprouts program has allowed my sons to socialize with peers, learn about how plants and animals grow, and also has had such an impact on their sense of community. They have gained empathy and awareness from learning how the farm provides fresh produce to local food pantries.”

Sarah M.
“I am writing to say how much my son adores your Sprouts program.  He really struggled with more traditional pre-school settings as he is a kinesthetic and active learner. The Sprouts Program at Auerfarm really fits his learning style perfectly with all the hands-on and outdoor experiences. As a teacher myself (I have taught Latin at Simsbury High School for 10 years), I recognize and sincerely value quality educational programs. The Sprouts Program is a rare gem, and I deeply hope that you do not discontinue it. My son Michael and many others would be devastated.”
