Start Your Gardens Crash Course
Have you always wanted to turn your lawn into a garden? Have you tried gardening in the past, just to get overwhelmed with the frustration of weeds, pests and disease?
We at Samad Gardens Initiative are here to put those fears and anxieties to rest and to get you well on your way to achieving your garden goals for the season with our Start Your Gardens Crash Course! All classes are located at 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm in Bloomfield, CT. This session is geared for new and seasoned growers who may be wanting a refresher or some new techniques and input on what works best in our experience as farmers.
We will cover:
– Seed starting techniques (in trays, soil blocking, and direct sowing)
– Starting a new garden from grass/lawn
– Watering techniques & water management
– Making your own Seed Starting & Potting Mix
– Light needs for different type of plants
– Valuable & low cost garden amendments
– & much more!
Join us and get all your questions answered and walk away with a solid foundation on what you’ll need to start your gardening journey this year, whether for the 1st or 50th time.
Plus, take home some free organic & heirloom seeds to get your gardens started at home!!
