Animal Care at Auerfarm – Meet Specialist Ben Carroll

Auerfarm  4-H alumni, Ben Carroll first started visiting the farm in 2010 and is now the Auerfarm Farm Assistant since 2013. Recently, Ben Carroll was a special guest showman at the Auerfarm 4-H Fair on Saturday, September 26 where he was the proud showman of each species of livestock.

Since his graduation from the Intensive Education Academy in West Hartford, Ben has cared for all the Auerfarm animals with unconditional love and unparalleled dedication. Ben is responsible for the weekday management of all the animal feedings, care, and health at Auerfarm; he is a true testament of following the Golden Rule as each alpaca, rabbit, donkey, goat, cow, chicken, and duck receives well-regarded treatment and respect for their individual needs.

While you may not have met Ben personally, you may be familiar with his talented art skills. Ben is a renaissance man as he is also a talented artist whose drawings you will find on the Auerfarm note cards, prints and tee shirts.  If interested in viewing his talents, please visit Auerfarm.org.

“I love to feed the animals and take care of them. I know all the animals by name and I talk to them every day when I arrive and before I leave.  This is the perfect job for me and I always do my best…” – Ben
